A simple recipe for Fall

Thursday, September 11th, 2008

While was out shopping at Whole Foods over the weekend they were having a sampling day which is one of my favorite times. They had all sorts of recipes to try! There was one that I thought was soo good that I had to try it. It is a fruit appetizer and it is so yummy! It just reminds you of all the sights and smells of Fall.

3 Apples of your choosing (slice them up thinly and small enough to fit on a small slice of bread

1/4 cup of softened cream cheese

6 oz of Vanilla Yogurt

French bread sliced in small little rounds, or even a pumpkin bread.

1/4 tsp of cinnamon or more for your liking

1/2 tsp ground ginger

Mix the cream cheese, yogurt, ginger and cinnamon together till smooth and refrigerate for one hour.

Slice up you apples, spread bread with mixture and top with an apple slice. This is soooo good, and even can be used as an apple dip. Try it out..it will be on my favorite recipe list!

Happy Birthday to My Babies

Thursday, July 24th, 2008

Well it was this day, two years ago, that I was in labor with my two boys. After 15 weeks of strict bed rest, with 8 of those weeks in the hospital, they made their entry about 6 weeks early. Alexander arrived at 10:15pm and Nicholas arrived 10 minutes later at 10:25!

Our lives were changed forever, but I wouldn’t change it back for all the world. They have been such a joy and a blessing in my life!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY ALEXANDER AND NICHOLAS!

Ugh no sleep

Tuesday, July 22nd, 2008

Well last night was a rough night! Both of the bubbas seem to be feeling under the weather. Over the weekend we were at the air show and I am wondering if they didn’t pick up some kung foo goo while they were there. I am even the overly cautious mom and was slathering them with hand sanitizer. I guess I should just get used to the fact that whenever they are around a bunch of kids, to expect some sort of snot fest afterwards. It seems that not everyone is really concerned about protecting other children from their child’s germs. I know that I can’t protect them from everything but it just seems like every time they get sick and with that comes 10-14 days of sleepless nights, cranky kids (2 of them), boogers everywhere, and no sleep for me either. When they are small like this, they can’t blow their nose, or verbalize much as to what is going on. Please pray that they get over this quick…poor guys have a birthday in 2 days :(  Luckily I won’t be celebrating till a little later…but that still is a bummer. Off to arm myself with the kleenex box!

Waiting for results.

Friday, July 18th, 2008

We currently have a cat and a Golden Retriever in the house.  Our Golden, apparently is having a hair loss issue and despite our efforts to help her lose weight, we haven’t had much luck.  So we took her in to the vet to get checked out because her beautiful golden locks are disappearing and she is actually going bald almost!  She also is rather sluggish and doesn’t really play anymore and she is only three.   They are pretty sure it is her thyroid, so we are just waiting for the results then she will be on medicine for the rest of her life.  It isn’t as bad as it sounds, because she will get her hair back and her pep back!

Gift ideas for the boys

Wednesday, July 16th, 2008

I am currently shopping for the boys for their birthdays. They are in need of some new toys to refresh their playroom and new things to stimulate their growing little brains! I wish that more sites would give a comprehensive listing of toys by age and also some sort of review. I have also found that a lot of toys that are meant for a two year old are a little too basic for them. I guess the search continues. Eight more days till my babies turn two….*cry*

Go away hot weather!

Wednesday, July 9th, 2008

I love when its nice and warm outside but lately it’s just been sticky, humid and HOT HOT HOT! Nothing like sticking to yourself. Ok thats all I had to say for now LOL!

Gone to the zoo!

Monday, July 7th, 2008

Today was the boy’s first visit to the zoo and we had alot of fun.   It was a little on the warm side today, but other than that we really enjoyed it!  They were most excited to see the snakes and the tiger so we spent a lot of time there.   We plan to go back in the Fall when the temperatures are a little more reasonable and the animals aren’t hiding because of the heat.   On our way out we hit the gift shop and the boys picked out a tube of different kinds of toy frogs  Ribbit!   LOL

Company is coming

Thursday, June 26th, 2008

So I’ve got company coming and it seems that there aren’t enough hours in my day. Getting housework done with two toddlers is definitely a chore! So I have the laundry to finish, the bedding to set up and wash, the bathrooms to clean, vacuuming, dusting, picking up to do and cook meals and entertain toddlers. So what do you think? Do you think I can get it all done by tomorrow morning? UGH! I think I will be manning the helm till midnight. Hi Ho Hi Ho…off to work I go. Wonder if I wiggle my nose, all the stuff will do itself?

Happy Fathers Day!

Sunday, June 15th, 2008

Here’s to Fathers everywhere, hope you have had a wonderful day celebrating with your families.   We spent the day playing with the boys, and just spending time together as a family.   The boys proudly brought Daddy their card and helped in opening up his presents (some new shirts).  The weather was beautiful, so all in all, a really good day…went by too fast!
